Lauren Wamsley

Lauren M Wamsley, MPH, has been the Director of Outreach and Recruitment for the MD degree at WVU school of medicine (WVU SoM) since 2013. Born and raised in WV, she earned her Bachelor’s degree and MPH from WVU, and she has committed her career and volunteerism to improving the lives of the people of WV. She oversees multiple pathway programs to the WVU SoM, and advises an extensive number of potential medical school applicants every year. Lauren is actively engaged in research projects concerning medical education, recruitment and the MD admissions process. She has made numerous local, regional and national presentations and has co-authored published works about her research and professional endeavors. One of her areas of special interest is increasing the number of physicians in the state with a military background who may have increased cultural humility in providing optimal health care to veterans.
