Some of our highest achieving students start their time at WVU in the Honors College, and many want to explore a variety of major options or have a hard time deciding on an academic path. Those students be welcomed by Dr. Ashley Watts in the First Year Experience program.
“I wanted to become an academic adviser because a lot of important decisions are made during this time in a young person’s life,” Ashley notes. “Supporting students as they contemplate their next move is important to me.”
Ashley loves the process of seeing a student reach the point where they feel excited, comfortable, and confident in the major they eventually choose and pursue.
Helping students find a purpose is something all advisers agree is highly rewarding.
