Heather Brooks

Heather Brooks serves as the academic advisor for the Honors College at Marshall University. She is originally from West Liberty, WV — a small college town in rural West Virginia — but usually claims Wheeling, WV as her home since it's more widely known. She’s always been curious about a wide range of subjects and has studied humanities, leadership and the social sciences. That curiosity is a great fit for her role, where she supports students from all academic backgrounds — from orientation through graduation.

She believes that building trust through shared interests helps students feel seen and supported, and she loves bringing an interdisciplinary lens to her advising work.
