Samm Jusino

Samm Jusino is the director of advising in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University. She aims to improve advising, retention and student success within the College, utilizing a developmental advising philosophy. Her current research focuses on developing a framework that advisers can use to navigate difficult conversations in the advising lifecycle. This work was recently presented at the national NACADA meeting in Pittsburgh in 2024. Her drive to improve and provide training led to her running for a leadership role within NACADA Region 3 as the professional development chair, where she hopes to share trainings and talks to provide more tools to our academic advisors. In addition to Region 3 leadership with NACADA, Samm also participates in the Region 3 Mentoring Program for new advisors and reads conference proposals.
