Most students completed registration months ago or during New Student Orientation. But there are always some registration situations that crop up as classes begin. Below are the most common.
Last day to change a schedule without incurring a W. This semester, students have until August 27 to add or drop a 16-week course. After August 27, dropping a 16-week course will incur a W on the student’s transcript. Adding courses after this time is strongly discouraged.
Students enrolled in duplicate credits. Students enrolled in courses for which they already have earned passing credit have been notified by the Registrar’s office, and advisers were copied. Students will receive a second notification if they have not adjusted their schedules on Monday, August 26.
Course attempt appeals. All students who have attempted courses at WVU three times and not earned passing grades must appeal to take that course a fourth time. For some courses only two graded attempts are allowed, and a student must appeal to take the course a third time. A list of those courses and a link to the appeal form is here. Please note, appeals are closed for the fall semester, but will reopen soon for spring advising.
