Maintaining Academic Momentum with Winter Intersession

|

Registration Opens October 13

Running from December 14, 2026, to January 1, 2027, Winter Intersession gives students a chance to earn up to 5 credits through fully online, asynchronous courses. Because the term fits into a focused 3-week window, learners can zero in on their studies without the competing pressures of a regular semester. It provides a practical way for students to catch up on requirements or fast-track their path to graduation.

Why Recommend Winter Intersession to Students?

The term is a strategic option for students looking to:

  • Complete a required course
  • Explore new topics
  • Gain practical skills
  • Accelerate degree progress
  • Lighten their Spring courseload

Explaining the Enrollment Process to Students:

  1. They must complete the Winter Intersession Registration Request Form (available on October 13)
  2. The WVU Online team will confirm their registration

Please note: Due to the rigor and intensity of the courses, students can take no more than two classes totaling five credit hours.
