Important Updates on Winter Intersession Courses for Students on SAP

|

Effective Fall 2024, students on an approved Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeal who wish to enroll in a Winter Intersession course will have the opportunity to do so, provided they meet a few additional requirements. There are no exceptions to the following requirements:

  1. Mid-term Grade: Students must have a mid-term grade of C or better for all registered fall classes (no “FSAs” or “FNAs”).
  2. Academic Success Plan Status: Students must not have failed their fall ASP already (i.e., no W or F grades).
  3. Minimum Cumulative GPA: A student must meet the minimum GPA based on their level or major. For undergraduate students, they must have a 2.00 or higher.
  4. Submit Updated Academic Success Plan: Students must register and have their updated Academic Success Plan (ASP) submitted to the WVU Hub no later than December 1, 2024.

While students who meet the requirements will be allowed to add a Winter Intersession course, general communication will not be distributed to students about the exception unless they initiate the request themselves. Students on an ASP who are enrolled in Winter Intersession course(s) will also have their spring financial aid disbursement delayed until mid-January, after final grades are posted to ensure they are continuing to meet the terms of their fall ASP. Spring refunds for students on an active ASP who enroll in Winter Intersession will not be processed until after January 15, 2025.

Students interested in registering should contact the WVU Hub with any concerns. If you have any questions about updating a student’s ASP, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at the WVU Hub for further clarification.
