Academic and Advising Updates

As students begin to plan for spring classes, advisers are reminded that the following languages still offer available minors in: Spanish, French, Chinese Studies and Arabic Studies.  

Last year, we made significant changes to the admission process for the 2024 Summer BOOST program. We’re pleased to report that student feedback has been mostly positive.

As students begin to seek mid-semester courses, advisers should note additional seating in second 8-week courses will become available incrementally over the next four weeks.  

Project 168 is an innovative approach to add purpose to students' outside-the-classroom experiences while bringing WVU’s core values to life.  

House Bill 4919 was signed into law and became effective July 1.  

More than 350 faculty members teaching gateway courses are invited to participate in issuing an alert in Navigate to identify students of concern during the first two to three weeks of the semester.  

As plans move forward to search for a new present, the presidential search committee is inviting the WVU community to participate in campus listening sessions hosted by the WittKieffer team on September 9-13.  

Last year, a group of dedicated new advisers came together to help create a central onboarding module for advising at WVU. 

Students have until Sunday, September 1 to pay the tuition bill in full or set up a payment plan.
